Fantasy Football 2012: Matt Ryan A Good Option

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is starting in a new offensive system under Dirk Koetter at offensive coordinator. The Falcons are expected to go to the air more this season, trying to improve upon the 7.4 yards per attempt from last season.

Ryan is coming off a season where he threw for career highs in touchdowns (29) and yards per game (261.1). Ryan has a No. 1 target in wide receiver Julio Jones who got over 100 receiving yards five times, despite missing three games.

Kenneth Arthur says that while there could be a possibility for more interceptions under this new system, it should help open up Ryan for even more career highs.

You'd like to see better efficiency for that many pass attempts. I believe that the team is committed to doing that this year and even if he throws a few more picks in a new system, he'll have another season of career-highs and be one of the better starting options in the game.

Ryan also has tight end Tony Gonzales to throw to, so that gives Ryan another reliable option to throw to.
